Electronic Warfare Systems Engineering Intern

The Electronic Warfare Department of the Systems Development Center of Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business unit designs and develops electronic warfare systems for airborne, ship-based, and ground applications. The EW Department is seeking 2014 summer intern candidates to work with and learn from senior engineers tackling challenging projects.  Interns will be challenged by real-work assignments in keeping with their skills and experience; this could include any combination of technical research, concept demonstration, modeling and simulation, product design, technical documentation, unit or system test, or technical presentations. 

Basic qualifications are:

  • A strong academic record - particularly in math, science, or engineering (electrical, systems, mechanical, software)

  • Technical success with challenging science or engineering projects, including effective communication of project results in written reports and presentations,

  • Skill in the use of computers for office tasks, research, analysis of numeric data, documentation, and presentations.

  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance.

     

    Desired Skills:

  • Experience and skill with data collection and analysis tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, or Mathematica.  

  • Experience and skill with requirements analysis tools, such as DOORS.

  • 3.0 GPA or higher.

  • Other considerations relevant to working effectively in the Raytheon engineering environment include the ability to work independently without close supervision, to work well in teams, to communicate effectively both informally (e.g. conversation or email) and formally (e.g. reports or presentations), to work diligently, and to conduct oneself professionally and ethically.

    Education

    Seeking a bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or related technical degree with an anticipated graduation date no earlier than December 2014 and no later than December 2015
